1987 Nissan Sunny ZX Turbo

Nissan’s 1986 Sunny range was hardly a memorable addition to the Escort class. Known as the Pulsar just about everywhere else in the world, the competent FWD hatchbacks became a driving school favourite, because they were so easy to drive. The ZX coupé had one distinction over the car it was based on – it was a head-turner. Sadly, the looks were deceiving, because that promising styling wasn’t realised on the road. Poor ride and handling could be forgiven on the low-powered version, but the turbocharged car with 135bhp could be a right handful.
