1953 Daimler Conquest Roadster

Daimler’s first attempt at an out-and-out sportscar was the Conquest-based, aluminium-bodied Roadster of 1953. Much sleeker and lower than any previous car from the company it was a somewhat bizarre-looking creation; this was thanks to Daimler trying to retain the style of the big saloons, which didn’t lend itself to the hunkered-down format. After 65 had been made from 1953 to 1955, it was dropped, but then came back from 1956 to 1957. Unfortunately, just 54 managed to find homes that time around.
