1993 TVR Chimaera 4.0/4.3

Though sharing much with the Griffith, the Chimaera’s proposition is as a slightly bigger and more comfortable touring car. And it does that, though you’ll never mistake it for a Jaguar: soft is a relative term in TVR-speak, and they are still dangerously fast in the wrong hands. Engines were certainly shared with the Griffith, starting out with the 4.0, but soon adding the 4.3. Later versions of the Chimaera even adopted 4.5 and five-litre versions of the Rover V8. Oh yes, and that tall tale about Ned the dog styling the sidelight opening by biting the clay model – it’s true!
