1978 Datsun 280ZX

Symbolic of the Z-cars decent into middle-aged spread, the 280ZX was far less appealing than the car it replaced. Longer, wider, heavier and uglier, the new 2.8-litre car was very much a boulevardier rather than a full-blooded sports car. Equipment levels were lavish, and power steering, all-round disc brakes and semi-trailing arm rear suspension were further refinements that cast the Z-car very much in the luxury car sector. Despite being panned when new, it sold well in the USA and is still very much in demand as a modern, useable classic car.
