2000 Lotus Exige S1

This racecar-based coupé version of the Elise was built with trackday action in mind and styled by someone who appears to have watched far too many avantgarde sci-fi movies. It lacks creature comforts, borders on the impractical and offers appalling rearward visibility. But would you change anything about it? An instant classic, obviously. The engine is the full-on VHPD version of the K-Series, as used in the 340R, and good for 177bhp. Always priced well above the Elise it’s based on, and a lot less were sold, so don’t expect Exige values to drop to the same levels.
