BMC badge engineering reached its zenith with the 1100/1300 range. The Wolseley was a comparative latecomer, not being launched until 1965, three years after the first-born Morris. Mechanically, it played with the same 55bhp as the Riley and MG versions and also had the option of attractive two-tone paintwork. In 1967, the 1300 appeared, with a 1275cc engine instead of a 1098. This had an all-synchromesh gearbox and 70bhp from its twin-carburettor engine, unless with an automatic gearbox, in which case, there was only one.
