1948 Wolsely 6/80

While the closely-related Wolseley 4/50 was a Morris Oxford MO in drag, the 6/80 was a Morris Six in an evening dress with a Pinocchio nose. The prominent snout was needed to accommodate the hefty 2215cc six-cylinder engine which offered more power than its Morris equivalent (72bhp versus 66bhp) thanks to an extra carburettor. The engineering - independent front suspension and unitary construction – was also modern for its day. Obviously, as befitted a Wolseley, the cabin featured sufficient wood and leather to justify its illuminated grille badge and higher price tag.
