The AC on the end stands for Aramid Composite, which translates to mean a body created using much carbon fibre and Kevlar to shave off a lot of weight. Racing version cemented TVR’s bad-boy image – it was banned for being too fast, a marketing man’s dream ticket. Around 40 of the 300bhp 420SEACs were built, along with another 17 of the 450 version, which added another 25bhp. The huge rear wing does nothing for the car’s appearance, but an awful lot for high-speed stability. Rumours abound of upgraded SEs, so make sure you buy the real thing.
