Pininfarina was also responsible for the B20 GT coupé (it built the Ghia styled bodies), and it shows in the elegant proportions and exquisite detailing. Now considered to be the first Gran Turismo, the 2- and 2.5-litre versions were quick, smooth and effortless. Fewer than 4000 B20 GTs were built, and those that remain have risen steeply in value in recent years as demand continues to outstrip supply for these thoroughbreds. In all, six series of Aurelias were built, with trim and performance upgrades being drafted in on an almost annual basis.
