1972 Vauxhall Victor FE/VX1800/2300

British Vauxhalls started to lose their individuality with the Victor FE of 1972, for this car also shared some of its underpinnings with the Opel Rekord, albeit with different suspension and engines. The latter were 1759cc and 2279cc four-cylinder overhead-cam units, giving these mid-sized models effective performance, while front disc brakes meant they also stopped well too. The sportier Rostyle wheel-decorated variant was known as the VX 4/90 and managed 116bhp from its twin-carb 2.3-litre engine. From 1976, the cars became known as VX1800s or VX2300s.
