1959 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II

V8 power reached Rolls-Royce with the Silver Cloud II of 1959. The company’s new 6230cc V8 brought power, flexibility and smoothness to these commanding heavyweights. Although actual horsepower was never revealed, it was estimated to be around the 200bhp, or 25 per cent greater than in the six-cylinder Cloud. Other changes included the adoption of power-assisted steering and a new facia. The standard saloons and Park Ward limousines were now complimented by the choice of a Mulliner drophead coupé, although its price was just as fabulous as its looks.
