1973 Ginetta G21

The more upmarket G21 reflected Ginetta’s ambitions in the wake of the collapse of the kit car market. The sleek glassfibre body was fitted over a new backbone tubular steel chassis and a choice of Sunbeam Rapier H120 or Ford V6 engines meant that there was real power on tap. The two-seat coupé wasn’t offered with an opening rear door, and in the wake of the MGB and Ford Capri, this seemed like a oversight – but despite this, most of the 170 built were sold as complete cars, and not in kit form.
