The business of car auctions is no new business concept but it is for Malta. The new maltese business MCA (Malta Car Auctions) will open its doors for its first auction on Saturday 28th, September and will make it easy to buy or sell vehicles.
The managing director, Glen Jones explains that selling or buying a car through an auction is simple and hassle-free. Rather than park their vehicles in the street or place an advert in the paper or on online classifieds such as Maltapark, buyers and sellers can register to enter their vehicle for the auction. The registration includes an independent mechanical report which will be fixed to the car’s window for buyers to read prior to choosing to bid on that car.
The seller is able to set a reserve price, which is the price at which the auction will start. The car will not be sold if the reserve price is not met. And the buyer only needs a drivers licence and ID card. Detailed information could be found on their website.
Auctions take place every Saturday at the company’s premises in Hardrocks Business Park in Burmarrad. Cars may be viewed on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
At a glance it looks like there are various choices up for the first auction ranging from an old Austin Vintage vehicle to various modern SUVs, compact cars and even convertibles.
